Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 2026 | Last Updated: January 21, 2026
Overview
Thurin Labs LLC ("Thurin," "we," "our," or "us") provides privacy-preserving identity verification using zero-knowledge cryptography. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Thurin is designed to verify identity claims (such as age or uniqueness) without collecting personal information. Your identity data never leaves your device.
What We Collect
Data We Store
| Data | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Ethereum address | On-chain verification record | Permanent (public blockchain) |
| Cryptographic nullifier | Sybil resistance (prevents duplicate claims) | Permanent (public blockchain) |
| Proof timestamp | Verification timing | Permanent (public blockchain) |
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Name, address, date of birth
- Driver's license or ID numbers
- Photos, biometrics, or facial data
- Social Security numbers
- Any raw data from your mobile driver's license
How Verification Works
- You present your mobile driver's license from Apple or Google Wallet
- Your device generates a zero-knowledge proof locally
- The proof cryptographically confirms claims (e.g., "valid license" or "over 21") without revealing underlying data
- Only the proof result is transmitted—your personal data stays on your device
Third Parties
We do not share data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
Service providers:
- Blockchain networks (Ethereum, Base, etc.) store verification records on-chain
- No third-party analytics or tracking services
Cookies and Tracking
Our website does not use cookies or tracking technologies.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Know what data we have about you (limited to on-chain records)
- Request information about our data practices
- Contact us with privacy concerns
Data Security
- All verification happens client-side using cryptographic proofs
- No personal data is transmitted to or stored on our servers
- On-chain data is public but contains no personally identifiable information
Children's Privacy
Thurin requires a valid mobile driver's license. Users must meet the age requirements of their state's licensing authority.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
